Focus is the key to achieving goals

We all wake up from our autopilot from time to time.
Suddenly we “wake up” taking a wrong turn or just realised that we are still on our way there, but we have no idea how we got there, or what happened.

We are driving our car, which we need a lot of focus to do.
Use our eyes, ears and motions!
We drive the car , then we start drifting away into our minds, thinking about things we have done or things we are about to do, or things we want to do, to mention a few.

The brain do this so good, so you can still drive the car without even being consciously aware , a suddent sound or an act wakes you up again.

If you did a test on this , without your knowledge, someone at the destination will ask you questions about, which way you took and what happened, what you were aware of while driving, many of us would have noticed just a fraction of what was actually going on.

That’s not being aware!

Bad stress has a big impact on this, stress about time, money and family will get you to drop focus on what you really feel.
The auto pilot can save our lives, but not being aware can be dangerous, it will make time fly so fast so you don’t even  have time to reflect what’s going on.

MINDFULNESS Meditation is a practice that have been used for thousands of years.

Many people connect meditation as something “Hippiesh” or religious or very deep thinking.
It can be for sure, in many ways. People are using that way and makes them happy and makes them climb their ladder to where ever they want to go.

But.

Mindfulness can be used to become more aware in everyday life, be used as a tool for stress relief, get you more focused on things that takes you one step forward.

All the things we have around us, makes us less focused on things that really matters for us, instead it gives us focus to things that does not matter.
Focus on  things that gives us that happiness and enjoyment while doing it, but doesn’t really give us that long lasting happiness that makes us feel great, makes us feel important, makes us feel we are part of something, and make it can makes us feel like we can make a difference.

If you goal is to travel, then what do you do and what do you need?

  •                                                                   Where do you want to go?
  • How long do you want to go for ?
  • Who will come with me , or will i go by myself?
  • First you need time to do it and How do you get that?
  • Then you need money, How can you afford it ?
  • Then you might need a plan where to go and how to get there.
  • You start gathering information, do research and talking to people.
  • Figuring out your budget?

and so on!

This can be overwhelming for many of us.

We find out what we want to do,we are focused,  we get that happy feeling that our dream is about to become an action.
Then  you come up with a price in your head, how much money is needed, without even researching prices or anything ,just doing an assumption.

– How can i afford that?

Realise that you might have to work for 8 months to go on this trip…

– Who’s coming with me?

Asking friends and family, seems like no one have time or some might want to do it. It’s not certain.

Already here your focus is fading, now it’s one big mess, and everything seems so far away, a massive distance.

Some of your friends tell you it’s dangerous, some say it’s crazy and what about your job? What will happen when you get back?

You get more scared and starting to see the possible downsides and building up scenarios in your head, scenarios created from fear.
It’s to far away, it’s dangerous, will my friends still be here when i get back, can i get back to my old job again?

So many thoughts are up there, creating a big kaos.

The focus on your passion, on your goal on your journey is now vaguely there!

AND…..then you push this trip until you feels more secure , seems better, you think you will be more prepared, you will have more money saved up and you will be stronger and less scared.

This is not even real, it’s all created in your mind!

It could be like that, but what’s the chance of that happening? It’s more likely that you will go back to what ever you were doing, and continue doing it!

You took a descision purly made up by your fears.

Instead of having the conversation in your head with yourself about and how to get there what you want, write it down.

Create your strategy! and stick with it.

Take action and talk with your boss, to at least see what he/her says, maybe there is a plan that works out well for both of you?
Maybe this is the time you have been waiting for to quit this job to try something new ?

Instead of talking to people that have never done it, they are just giving advice based on their fears, talk to people that have done it and are doing it.
Well some people that have never done it , but are pumped up for your success, count them in!
They are also the great ones.

Research the cost and figure out how much you make and how much you can save.
Is it possible to save more?, it’s all about priorities!
Write this down! Share it with people around you that brings you great vibes.
The cost is always way bigger in your head , get down to the cost, calculate and write it down!
Get it into reality.

  • Don’t listen to the naysayers, they are where they are because they didn’t say YES!
  • Do things that gives you motivation and makes you feel strong!
  • Go over the strategy and keep your focus.
  • What ever it is that takes that focus away from you, get rid of it. Doesn’t matter if it’s a human or a TV, it doesn’t fit in your life right now!
  • Keep on looking at your strategy, are you on the right path ? Is there something you need to change to get on the path ?

Keep that goal infront of you, get out from your head and into reality, put up pictures that reminds you of this trip, focus on where you want to go and how to get there, instead of focus where you don’t want to be and what could go wrong.

Time is our biggest asset ! Make the best of it.

Mindfulness meditation is such a powerful tool to help you gain focus and awareness!
Many of us doesn’t feel that we have time to for things, like  a 15 mins meditation?, we come up with excuses why we don’t have the time….even though we have the time.

The most of the time it’s just excuses that is incredibly stupid.

Mindfulness Meditation helps you create time in life, make the time you have more efficient !

It will help you enjoy life more, less bad stress and more focus and the things you want to achieve.

If your goal is not about travelling , what ever it is I’m happy for you and your goal.
Apply this practice to your everyday life to achieve what ever it is you want to achieve!

Focus!

More about Mindfulness Meditation?

It works really great for me, I feel I can handle the stress when it comes, but I can also feel that I’m way less stressed!

I can actually focus on the things I want to do or accomplish instead of drifting away and put focus on things that does not matter, those stressful events that happens in your mind that’s not even real.
If you can’t handle the stress, that scenario your mind builds up about what ever it is that is stressful for you, will just become bigger, too big for many of us!

That will make you procrastinate and make up excuses to not do the things you really want to do!

This have helped me in my everyday life, being more aware and have more control over my actions.
I feel more secure with myself and where I’m going in life, I can make my plans, keeping the focus and take the action.

It have helped me a lot in my relationship, to be more aware and get more understanding of the other partner!

It works great for me, I enjoy doing it and it helps me go in the direction I want to go, and it makes me feel great !

Stay happy!
