We love Nepal, What happened after the earthquakes?
About four years ago ,2011/2012 we went of a great adventure to trekk parts of the Himalayans in Nepal!
We all flew in from different parts of the world and all of us gathered in Kathmandu , where we all got prepared with information, got to meet the rest of the team, and planned the route to get up to the final destination Mount Everest base camp!
This was a 15 day’s trekking trip starting in the mountains , Lukla , where we flew in to.
Worlds shortest airstrip, 400 m and at the end of the strip there’s a huge mountain wall, scary!
Five of us from all over the world together with an amazing guide and his assistant, and two sherpas.
These sherpas from day one became my heroes! The smile they had one their faces, the happiness they spread while carrying all that super heavy backpacks of ours!
A team of greatness!
An epic adventure through the Himalayan mountain range!
Extraordinary views, to stand beneath the highest mountains in the world and see the sunrise behind it is a feeling of greatness, awesomeness and success.
Our dear guide Shreeram, made everything happen for us, he told us about different routes where you would trekk parts or ways that people usually didn’t trekk, we got interested right away when we heard about this.
If we liked his ideas he would plan and then change the route for us!
A truly great man , happy all the time, and it seems like that was his character, to see people happy would make him happy so all the time he made it happen!
He is from a small village in the mountains, Phulkharka, Dhading District.
Where they live a life season by season, doing their hard work with agriculture, gathering yak dung for drying to make a warm yak dung-fueled fire!
Survivors instead of consumers.
Unfortunately this village got devastated when the earthquakes hit in April 2015.
Hundreds of thousands of people were made homeless with entire villages flattened, from this 8.1 magnitude earthquake!
About 90 % of Phulkharka collapsed!
Continued aftershocks occurred throughout Nepal at the intervals of 15–20 minutes, with one shock reaching a magnitude of 6.7 on 26 April at NST.
The country also had a continued risk of landslides.
This was going on all the way into May!
So what’s going on in Nepal today?
The country and it’s people are still in great need of aid.
If we don’t go in and help with what ever possible for us then it will take decades for these poor people to rebuild or even get close to what their villages once looked like, if even possible.
First off they don’t have the money for materials or the workforce.
Materials are transported up to these remote villages through narrow paths along mountain walls, and it take days!
They use man power and donkey’s, to get everything up, if they can afford it, they have no money to take from!
They are in great need of food to!
Their homes, schools and other community buildings, it all collapsed.
The children have no schools to go to, everyone are putting all their strength into rebuilding this village.
We need to do what ever we can in this situation, and unite to aid these people with either donations or help on spot!
The earthquake might be over , but the rebuilding has just begun.
That’s where my friends Jesse Benson and Shreeram comes in the picture!
(And a many other amazing people)
Shreeram put up a lot of photos of the devastated village of Phulkharka, and he was in great search of help from all over the world.
The local people in this village do everything they can.
But as all of Nepal , Phulkharka is in great need of aid.
Jesse benson, a great friend and our team leader for our trekking trip in Nepal, have been in contact with our friend Shreeram since we all first meet.
Shreeram was the first responder to deliver rice and emergency supplies to the devastated remote villages where families were basically left standing and starving in tottering mounds of rubble.
His descriptive replies to Jesse’s concerns literally brought tears to his eyes and he knew he needed to return when the country stabilized and that time for him is this December.
He started this fundraising project ” Going to Nepal to rebuild school. Please help us!!
Where people can donate what ever they feel they can and this donation goes directly towards the rebuilding of schools.
All these money go directly towards the project.
As it looks at the time writing , they building two schools!
Great work!
Him and Shreeram have also set up an easy plan/program for people that want to go down there and help on spot, volunteering!
They are a team of about 12 people now, having the amazing experience of uniting with all these nepalese people, and together help etc building these schools or teaching these children.
Everyone is needed.

Remember that you don’t have to put any amount in “suggested gift to Generosity’s operating expenses”
on the website, if you decide to help 🙂
It’s getting updated regularly, with notes and pictures!
There have been projects coming up around this one, people are doing fundraising in their own way to help rebuilding this village.
We need more people like this in the world.
I am grateful.
Thank you for your consideration and support!
